Alexander had been shopping in Jermyn Street, before going back to college in America. I was struck by his simple yet old-fashioned, slightly ruffled old money look. The pocket square, the cardigan and gloves are so quintessentially ‘English Gent’.

As John was darting past me in Kensington on Sunday, I was impressed by his classic gentleman looks, softened by the dash of orange and burnt umber hues of his scarf. In the fleeting moment I asked his name, he replied, “I am John from Gibralter, everybody knows me”. He reminded me of Yves Saint Laurent…
