Red Delicious

April 16th, 2010

Sarah was on the way for a job interview, when I noticed her combination of Zara men’s cardi, H&M men’s shirt, Uniqlo jeans and Zara desert boots, accessorized with some nice jewellery and vintage belt . Sarah had originally studied English at university, has tried a bit of modelling, but now decided to go the other side of camera and study fashion photography. That’s what I call well grounded and I wish her all the luck in the world.

I wonder what she was interviewing for. Also, do you really spot the provenance of clothes when you see someone? That would be very impressive!

Hi Davidkus. As far as the clothes are concerned. As I come from a non fashion background I don’t carry around the usual baggage and preconceptions. I spot someone who I think looks cool or stylish and take their photo. Often for me it’s all about ‘eye candy’. As far as provenance is concerned, I rarely know where the clothes come from. The shot has to work on several levels, it has be a great photo, interesting person to look at and some nice kit. As my site says,, “It’s not just the clothes – it’s the people who wear them”. I hope that answers your question.
