Paris – James Goldstein
October 6th, 2013Flamboyant multimillionaire, fashion cowboy and all-round Playboy dude James Goldstein has a love of fashion which extends to Gaultier, Balmain and McQueen (he owns a camp moto jacket in python, which was a gift from the designer). Goldstein also owns a Belstaff jacket, made especially for him . Architecture lover and NBA super-fan James F. Goldstein’s love of fashion goes back 30 years, Goldstein says he first went to a John Paul Gaultier show in the early 1980s – he now goes to around 200 fashion shows a year. This season Goldstein launches his own couture line eponymously named ‘Goldstein’. When I spoke to Goldstein in Paris recently, he gave me a rye smile when I mentioned the launch of his fashion line and was surprised about all the attention given his chic rock & ‘Roller’ style.
Goldstein’s house was designed by John Lautner an Acoylote to Frank Lloyd Wright and was used as Jackie Treehorn’s house in the movie The Big Lebowski. Apart from the money Goldstein is the epitome of the Dude with his laid-back style and attitude . “I just ride along with things without getting too bothered.” he once said to the LA Times. The dude abides, indeed!
