In 2018 Bingbing mysteriously disappeared for almost a year, this was apparently related to charges of tax evasion charges. Fan was ordered to pay about 883m yuan about $129m in fines and unpaid taxes. She resurfaced in 2019 and has since apologized to her fans and continued here mega-global career, currently staring in Hollywood action movie the 355 along with Jessica Chastain and Penélope Cruz.
