Teenage brother and sister band the Mocktales. Matthew 13 and Isabell 15 and formed during lockdown. Isabella plays bass guitar and sings while Matthew sings and plays lead guitar, with a drummer. They mainly busk around central London and Matthew says his parents took him out to busk when he was really young aged 10 with a music partner. The Mocktales tell me they play at lot of their own original songs, mainly rock and Indi including covers. The band play a weekly residency in the Court, which is a private members club in Soho and in the 1960s was known as the Bag O’Nails, a club famous for its live music. Isabell goes on to tell me that it is where Jimi Hendrix played his first ever gig in London.
