Joel Adebayo was a lawyer before getting into fashion. I spoke to Joel briefly outside the fashion retail shop he manages called ’Not just another store’ on Redchurch street Hoxton.
“The last three months I’ve taken some time off and been able to structure my thoughts, but there’s also been a lot of chaos, there’s been the BLM movement which has got me thinking about how I’m complicit about racism. For me as a black man I shouldn’t just calling out out my white friends, but what I’m I doing to elevate the black movement, because it’s not just about what are white people doing to help black people, but what I’m I doing as a black man to help my community and raise the profile as a black man”.
