Paris – Ingmari Lamy
January 27th, 2013I first photographed model and muse Ingmari Lamy in March 2009 in Paris (bottom shot) I then had the pleasure to meet and talk with Ingmari last September in 2012. Originally from Sweden, Ingmari was discovered in Paris while on vacation, by a photographer in the 1960s. Ingmari then went on to be Kenzos muse and model for many years-they are still very good friends. Although too short for most runway shows in the 1960s, Kenzo bucked the trend by having Ingmari appear on his catwalks. In the 1970s Ingmari became the face of Yves Saint Laurent and has walked for Martin Margiela, Yohji Yamamoto and Jean Paul Gaultier. Ingmari moved to Spain with her family in 1981, but continued to work with Kenzo up until 1991, when she decided to move back to Sweden. By 1992 Ingmari was suddenly re-discovered by Swedish fashion photographer Magnus Reed and has a resurgence of her fabulous career and has continued to do editorial work ever since. In 2011, Lamy appeared in campaigns for Lanvin and H&M. Ingmari tells me that she is still has the hunger and desire to work and would like to do some more big campaigns.
