Paris – Bespoke Maverick
October 9th, 2011Occasionally during the course of my work as a street/fashion photographer, I come across someone so interesting and unique, that I have to say something about them. Aaron Smith Henrikson is one such person. Aaron is a multi-talented make-up artist, who is also fluent in several languages. He [Aaron]tells me that he likes to blend in wherever he happens to be in the world, while working for the worlds top designers and Hollywood A-listers.
Aaron is also a gifted graphic designer, illustrator, photographer and painter, Aaron somehow also finds time to alter, embellish and create bespoke fashion ideas for himself, like Aarons handmade bow-tie and embellished brass buttons-sourced from a small backstreet store in San Fransisco. I can’t remember all the details reeled off by Aaron, pertaining to his outfit , but I do recall mention of the shirt which had also been dyed. While we were chatting I couldn’t help noticing the classically dressed French Guy on the bike nearby and remembered Aaron telling me that “I like to blend in wherever I happen to be in the world”- so voilà! and it all came together nicely!
Aaron’s maverick style originates from a childhood growing up on Venice beach California, and I would say, a heavy nod towards Haight-Ashbury and the early 60s-era. Whatever Aaron’s influences happen to be, it is always a pleasure to meet such a creative thinking professional at the top of his game.
